Another Woman is Stabbed by Common-law Husband in Belmopan

Joseph Myvett

Another Belmopan woman has been stabbed by her common-law husband in the capital. Katherine Anthony remains in a stable condition at the Western Regional Hospital after she was stabbed to the chest following an argument. On Saturday night, the couple was at a house on Sarstoon Street in Belmopan when an argument ensued between them. The common-law husband, whose name has not released at this time, somehow got hold of a knife and stabbed Anthony once. ACP Joseph Myvett says that there is no record of domestic violence between the couple, but police are looking for him.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“Katherine Anthony, thirty-eight years of a George Price Highway address was seen suffering from an apparent stab wound to the right side of the lower part of her chest. She reported to police that whilst at a relative home on Sarstoon Street, she had a misunderstanding with her common-law husband and who in the process inflicted the said injury to her. Police is seeking her common-law husband in relation to this crime.”
