Distinguished Belizean diplomat laid to rest
Ambassador Edward Laing was laid to rest today. The distinguished jurist, a member of the International Law of the Sea Tribunal and former envoy to the United States and United Nations, died on Tuesday while snorkelling off Caye Caulker. The official funeral, attended by numerous dignitaries as well as family and friends, took place this afternoon at Wesley Methodist Church and wound its way through Belize City to Lord’s Ridge Cemetery. Laing was fifty-nine years old.
