4 arrested on weapons, counterfeiting charges

Another police search of a vehicle in Belmopan has ended more successfully for law enforcement officers. The vehicle, a blue Chevy Cavalier with no license plates, was stopped on Thursday on Constitution Drive. A search of the three men and one woman in the car resulted in the discovery of a chrome nine millimetre Smith and Wesson pistol and twenty-seven bullets, as well as nine counterfeit hundred-dollar bills. A tenth bogus blue note was also discovered after police saw the female occupant throw it out of the car. All four people have been arrested and charged with unlicensed weapons and counterfeiting offences. They are twenty-five year old Jermaine Fuentes, seventeen year old Leon Soberanis, twenty-nine year old Eric Savery and a fifteen year old female minor. All reside in Belize City.
