Danny Mason’s Guyanese Attorney Arrives in Belize
Arriving in the country today was thirty-eight-year old Dexter Todd, a Guyanese attorney. Todd has been retained by William “Danny” Mason, also from Guyana, who is expected to go back to Supreme Court in Belmopan this Tuesday for the beheading of Pastor Llewellyn Lucas. Mason’s previous attorney, Herbert Panton and Rachel Montejo, were released so the accused murderer went shopping for a new lawyer. Todd, however, has to be called to the bar to practice in Belize and this afternoon, he was attempting to get his application filed in time for the case to resume. Mason’s wife, Melissa Ferguson was with Todd this afternoon. Attorney Dickie Bradley is assisting with the process. Since the adjournment of the murder trial in early April, the court as appointed a number of well-known attorneys to represent the other four accused men: Terence Fernandez, Ashton Vanegas, Keiron Fernandez, and Ernest Castillo. Pastor Llewellyn Lucas was killed in July 2016. His head was found in a bucket in the pan of Mason’s pickup truck stationed at a Belmopan bar.
