No good news for families of missing Belizeans
In the fourth day following what is believed to be the worst act of terrorism in modern history, there is still no word on five Belizeans still believed missing: four in the wreckage of the World Trade Center and one in the smouldering ruins of the Pentagon. Relatives of Alva Jeffries, the Belizean who worked on the ninety-sixth floor of the first tower hit on Tuesday morning, report that they have been unable to find any evidence of her whereabouts. They join hundreds, perhaps thousands of New York families making the rounds of area hospitals and first aid stations. Meanwhile, in Belize, Alva’s relatives have informed News 5 that a mass of prayer for their loved one will be held on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Ignatius Church. All family friends and those who would like to express their concern and hope are invited to attend.
