Photo exhibition opens at House of Culture
If today’s events in New York and Washington have you keyed up, a good place to calm your nerves may be the House of Culture where a new photographic exhibition is on. Jacqueline Woods reports.
Noel Escalante, Photographer
“It’s relaxing because you can see nature, you can actually see God’s creations in just about everything you do so it has sort of a religious nature and just sort of looking in relation to scenery; it’s very peaceful.”
Since he received his first camera in the 1970s forty-eight year old Noel Escalante has been capturing a variety of scenes across the country. Today Escalante has put together a collection of photographs snapped over the past several years.
Noel Escalante
“I like to take pictures early in the morning. I like to take it at midday and sometimes in the evenings when I have a spare chance from work, I just go out and take pictures. After awhile, you gather quite a large number of pictures on just about everything in Belize not only scenery, but buildings, bridges whatever. And when you have so much pictures and you have so much information you want to share it with the Belizean public.”
…And the public will have that opportunity to view some of those sights through Escalante’s Transitions Photography Exhibition that is on display at the House of Culture for the September celebrations. Reporting for News 5, Jacqueline Woods.
The exhibition is open weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. until September twenty-first at the House of Culture.
