Cayo man robbed of over $15,000
A San Ignacio resident was sleeping when he was woken up just in time to be robbed at gunpoint. Reports are that on Saturday, thirty-six year old Sunil Sukhlani of Church Street, woke at around 1:30 a.m. only to find two dark-complexioned men, one with a thirty-eight calibre revolver and the other with a knife, demanding money. Sukhlani handed over six hundred and fifty dollars. Not content with that, the thieves ransacked his home and stole an additional fourteen thousand dollars in cash and one thousand dollars worth of belongings. Police say they as yet have no suspects.
