Elderly Watchman is Stabbed Multiple Times in Carmelita
An elderly man from Carmelita Village, Orange Walk is in critical condition at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital after he was stabbed multiple times to the chest and abdomen. On Sunday night, seventy-year-old Pedro Chuc was rushed to the Northern Regional Hospital after neighbours found him on the street, ailing from stab wounds inflicted to him at the doorway of his house in the village. At its press briefing today, police say that details are scarce, but they are investigating whether a previous attack on the watchman may be related.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“What we know so far is that shortly after eight p.m., neighbours were called to the area of Mister Chuc’s home where he was seen with those stab wounds and apparently assisted in transporting him to the Northern Regional Hospital. He has since been transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he remains in a critical condition. So far, we do not have any credible leads and we are seeking the public’s assistance in trying to solve this matter. We did gather some information that he previously worked as a watchman for a school in that area and was previously attacked. So we are also following on that information.”
