Minor Perishes in Hit & Run Incident in the South
A minor was knocked down and killed overnight on the Hummingbird Highway and his body discovered at dawn today. Fifteen-year-old Marvin Morales left his aunt’s house in Pomona on bicycle en route to his home in Hope Creek, but never made it to his destination. He was struck by a vehicle whose driver never stopped to render assistance. The impact sent the teen into the bushes and to his death; his crushed bike was also found at the scene. ACP Joseph Myvett says it occurred between miles nine and ten on the highway.

“Dangriga police were called to an area between nine and ten on the Stann Creek Valley Road where they observed the body of a Hispanic male later identified as Marvin Morales, fifteen years, with apparent head and body injuries and next to him was a blue in colour beach cruiser bicycle. What we know so far is that sometime after eight p.m. last night, the deceased left his aunt’s home in Pomona Village en route to Hope Creek where he lives and somewhere along the road, he may have stopped on the left hand side of the road when heading south and that is apparently where the accident occurred. What was retrieved from the scene so far is just some debris from a broken light and we are still trying to determine what time of vehicle it was.”
The police are seeking the assistance from the public to locate the driver and the vehicle that struck Morales.
