Tyrick Francis is Ambushed and Killed on Fabers Road, Belize City
The second murder for the weekend occurred in the Old Capital on Faber’s Road Extension. Tyrick Francis was shot and killed as he was walking home. It is believed that a gunman waylaid him and as he was about to make a left turn on to Krooman Road, he was ambushed. The blood stains on the concrete street are signs that Francis bled profusely before his body was placed in the pan of a police pickup truck and carted off to the K.H.M.H. where he was pronounced dead on arrival. News Five’s Duane Moody reports.

It was a bloody weekend in the city, but a shooting incident on Saturday night on Faber’s Road Extension claimed the life of a twenty-year-old resident of Leodegardia Membrano Street. It is believed that Tyrick Francis was on his way home when he was gunned down as he approached the cut off to Krooman Road, less than two blocks away from where he lived.
ASP Alejandro Cowo, O.C., C.I.B., Belize City
“Mister Tyrick Francis was walking on Faber’s Road Extension and upon reaching by the junction of Krooman Road with Faber’s Road Extension, a male person came out of the bushes and fired several shots at his direction causing the abovementioned injuries he received.”

Reports are that on April seventeenth, Francis was targeted by two armed gunmen in an ongoing gang war in the Lacroix Boulevard area. He survived that incident, and police believe that his murder may have also been motivated by the rivalry in the Martin’s area.
“Can you share what’s police’s hunch in terms of what may have caused his death?”
ASP Alejandro Cowo
“Yeah we believe and suspect that it is because of that same rivalry that is in the Martin’s area.”
