Accused Murderer Hugh Dyer Walks on Nolle Pros
Thirty-five-year-old Hugh Dyer, who has been incarcerated since 2015 pending the outcome of a murder trial, walked away from the charge today when a nolle prosequi was entered. On July nineteenth 2015, Steven Munnings, a resident of Hattieville, was reportedly bludgeoned by Dyer whose estranged common-law wife had given him a house key to repair her bathroom. It is alleged that when Dyer learned of the arrangement, he followed his former live-in girlfriend to the plumber’s house and viciously attacked him with a piece of two-by-four. The trial commenced on Monday in the courtroom of Justice Colin Williams where the Crown was represented by Porsha-Staine Ferguson who had called seven witnesses to the stand. The Crown Counsel entered a nolle pros this afternoon when her main witness, Michelle Brakeman, the estranged common-law wife of Dyer, could not be located. Hugh Dyer was represented by attorney Oscar Selgado.
