Saffiyah has weekend blotter
Thank God it’s Friday and if you’re looking for a fun weekend ahead, Saffiyah has suggestions for you.
Hey I’m Safiyyah and this is What’s happening Belize?
If you’d like an early start on Saturday then you can join in with the Belize Audubon Society as they celebrate Earth Day with their Walk for a Greener Belize. The walk will move off at six a.m. from the Constitution Park and end at the Guanacaste National Park. After the walk, the celebration will continue at the park with performances by Leela Vernon and even a Hopping String Band. So you can join in on the celebration of Earth day and even help to clean up along the highway as you go.
In Belmopan there will be a chess tournament this weekend. So if you’re a fan in the art of war in chess then you can check that out.
The Youth for The Future wants everyone to look out for their ten teams of guys on a game quest this Saturday. These guys will be competing in a game called city quest, where they will be looking for different historical Belizean sites in the city. So if you see them, point them in the right direction.
And I can’t leave without telling you about the grand opening of Orange Plaza. This a new ceviche bar and pub in Orange walk town. Next week Friday is the big opening and believe me when I tell you there will be lots of entertainment including the Sugar Baby Dancers and Roxanna. I will give all the info next week.
Well, that’s all I have for now. I’ll have all the activities lined up for you for Labor Day weekend next week. Bye!
