Mexican charged in big drug bust
It came as a bonus to police who believed that all four drug runners who abandoned their boat full of cocaine on Monday had escaped into the night. As it turned out, one didn’t make it and he was picked up early this morning as he hid out in the mangrove forests of Hicks Caye. Thirty-two year old Mexican, Pedro Valle Vanlenzuela, described as a fisherman of Sinaloa state, was taken into custody and will be charged with drug trafficking and the importation of drugs, specifically two thousand, three hundred and eleven pounds of cocaine. He is said to be co-operating with authorities. Meanwhile, the boat that presumably brought Valle and friends all the way from Colombia now rests at the Port Authority. The large fibreglass skiff, powered by three, two hundred horsepower engines, will most likely be auctioned to the highest bidder. Prospective buyers with police records need not apply.
