Health Minister: Dr. Angel Campos Asked to Change Ministry

It took effect last week Tuesday, Doctor Angel Campos is Junior Minister for Health no more; in fact, he is now the Minister of State in the Ministry of Human Development, Social Transformation and Poverty Alleviation.  Political pundits have had their spin on the shift, saying that Campos and his former senior Minister Pablo Marin had bucked heads in the running of the ministry. Doctor Campos was responsible for the National Health Insurance programme. Today, Marin told the media that he didn’t push his colleague out of the ministry, but that Campos opted for a change.

“He was the minister in charge of NHI; that is totally out of my jurisdiction. He was controlling that section. But I think what happened was that Minister Boots Martinez, who is about to also to not continue, asked him to come over to his ministry to look at how he does things there and for him to also help him in that area.”

“Definitely. If he was here, I can give him a hug and everything. We work good. All colleagues we are working together. Now, there are certain times that colleagues want to venture in other areas and which he was the one that asked.”
