man detained in Independence shooting

Gunshots also echoed in Independence this weekend claiming the life of another young man. Twenty-year-old Rodney Cabral died as a result of a gunshot wound to his chest early Friday night near Shades Bar on Fadden Avenue. Thirty-nine year old Dean Forman, who was also injured in the incident, told police that he was standing in front of the bar around 7:30 when he noticed two men fighting in the street. Forman says during the scuffle, he heard two gunshots and then saw one man fall to the ground. At that point, Forman realised that he too had been hit. Police recovered a point twenty-five pistol and two expended shells from the scene. The gunman, later identified as Randolph “Pebbles” Walton, turned himself in to police on Saturday. He is detained pending charges of murder.
