Teen is Remanded for Armed Robbery of Sunny & Tan

A teenager has been arraigned for the armed robbery of popular Sunnyside Bakery on Racecourse Street in Belize City. “Sunny and Tan,” as it is otherwise known, was targeted by robbers six days ago and police have since been able to charge one of the alleged suspects. Damion Saldano of Euphrates Avenue was arraigned this afternoon before Magistrate Michelle Trapp for the crime of robbery. Allegations are that on May thirty-first, Saldano stole a wallet from Eldon Pitterson, which contained two hundred dollars in cash. His Samsung Galaxy cell phone was also taken along with five hundred dollars in cash from the counter. In court, Saldano pleaded not guilty to the charge. Bail was denied and he was remanded to central prison until August second, 2019. A second person, whose identity is unknown at this time, remains at large as police continue their investigation.
