Another $15,000 Winner for Scratch & Win

There is yet another fifteen thousand-dollar winner in the recently established Scratch and Win game. Caye Caulker resident and father of one, Wilber Chi is taking home twelve thousand seven hundred and fifty dollars after taxes. Chi is one of thousands of Belizeans that have played the game since it started back in March by simply buying either of the one-dollar or two-dollar tickets. Earlier today, News Five spoke with Chi who says that he has been having a winning streak since his birthday two weeks ago and decided to try his luck at Quan’s Store on the island.

Wilber Chi, $15,000 Winner, Scratch & Win

“It started from last week when it was my birthday and it has been a crazy, lucky weekend. I won some boledo—six hundred dollars—last week and this week I won again, four hundred.  And I just said my luck is going so I just decided to buy the scratch; I have been buying it for a couple days as well. And I stopped by Quan’s in Caye Caulker, I went home to have dinner and I started to play my games. When I noticed, I saw this fifteen thousand three times and I thought to myself, did I really win. And I looked at my wife and she is like, “You’re crazy, you didn’t win.” And I tell her I will verify this so I went to check and surely it was a win and I got so excited. I feel happy to have won fifteen thousand dollars.”

“How many tickets did you buy?”

“I bought about fifteen; some one-dollar and some two-dollar ones.”

“Weh you wah do with fifteen thousand dollars?”

“What I am going to do is put ten thousand to saving because I would like to open a small business in the future and I will help some of my family with some plans I have.”

“So does this mean that you wah stop buying or this encouraging you to buy more?”

“Definitely I am going to continue buying. I know my spot and I know where I can win again.”
