Atlantic Bank celebrates 30th birthday
At one time, it was known as the piggy bank, the new kid on Albert Street, forced to compete with multinational giants like Barclays, Scotia and the Royal Bank of Canada. But three decades after opening its doors, Atlantic Bank Limited has established itself as a major player on the Belizean financial scene. Today Atlantic celebrated its thirtieth birthday.

“It’s an opportunity for the bank to show its appreciation to its many customers with snacks, drinks, balloons for the children and a piece of the birthday cake. Assistant general manager for credit and marketing, Hector Rivera, did the honours. (Cutting of the cake)
Emelda Vernon, hospitality officer, painstakingly baked and decorated four huge cakes and hundreds of cupcakes for the celebration.

“I started yesterday morning about five o’clock and I finished last night after ten. When I came in this morning, I put on the finishing touches. I finished this morning about a quarter to eight. I attended an advance cake decorating class and they have a machine that does printing, that’s how we got the print to the top.”
Nydia Riverol, Marketing Officer
“We’re very proud of all our employees because for the past thirty years they’ve come and gone and they did beautifully. The bank is doing well, we have a nice amount of very loyal customers and we are always open to new customers to come in. We have a lot of very profitable services to offer our customers out there. We have a very equipped staff, who is more than happy to assist customers, so we are inviting them to come in. Those who are already customers, thank you for being customers with us.”
