No Lead in Recent Kidnapping of Businessman
Corozal police continue their investigations into the kidnapping of fifty-year-old Kiran Kumar Solanri. The businessman of Palmar Village in Orange Walk was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday morning as he drove into the Corozal Free Zone. He told police that he was intercepted by another vehicle, kidnapped and robbed of three thousand U.S. dollars and fifty thousand pesos. He was forced into the trunk of the car and left abandoned within the Corozal Free Zone. He managed to free himself and alert authorities. Investigators are stilling working on all leads; however, none have produced possible suspects.

“Kiran Kumar Solanri, a businessman from Orange Walk reported that he was driving inside the Corozal Free Zone when he was intercepted by another vehicle. Two male persons jumped out of the vehicle and held him up at gunpoint and stolen were an amount of cash and cell phone. Police visited the area and conducted an investigation. At this no suspects have been detained.”

“Sir we know that most of the people in the Free Zone are from Mexico, are the suspect believe to be Mexicans.”

“We are not sure. This was a businessman from Orange Walk that was robbed.”

“Police are following up on that. Officers are there conducting the investigation.”
