Tracy Panton, Minister of State, Trade & Investment
“The objective, as the Mister of Ceremonies mentioned, is to increase direct foreign investments in our key priority areas. In addition to this mission on tourism later this year, we will host a mission that will take a close look at the agriculture and agro-processing industries. This week, however we focus on the interests of our Taiwanese ambassadors from the US and Canada territories, who have agreed to spend a week with us to look at the opportunities in Belize’s thriving tourism industry. This investment mission will provide strategic insights, industry insights, through tailored meetings and site visits with industry executives and decision makers that continuously are working to upgrade our systems and procedures to ensure effective coordination with other key ministries and stakeholders. Your insights are important to us as we find new mechanisms to incentivize and support both local and foreign interests.”
