Jamie Cayetano Drowns in Red Bank
A young man lost his life over the weekend in Red Bank Village where he had gone swimming with a group of friends in the nearby river. Jamie Cayetano reportedly entered the water ahead of his friends and did not resurface. When they were subsequently able to bring Cayetano to shore and attempt to resuscitate him, their efforts at CPR were futile.
ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“Police were called to an area in Red Bank, along the river bank, where they observed the apparent motionless body of a male person later identified as Jamie Cayetano whose other particulars are unknown at this time. He was transported to the Independence Polyclinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. What the police know so far is that Cayetano, along with two other persons, had left to the area to swim and he apparently jumped into the water before those two other persons and they later found his body beneath the water and he was brought to shore. An attempt was made to resuscitate him but it was unsuccessful. So his body is awaiting a post mortem.”
