5 Kilos of Weed Seized on Passenger Buses

Police seized over five thousand grams of weed between Friday and Saturday. The seizures all happened on passenger buses traveling in the north heading in a south bound direction. Police say that they have made some arrests but not all the marijuana packages could be tied to passengers on the buses. Here’s more from ACP Joseph Myvett.

“On Friday last, police were conducting operations in San Jose in Orange Walk district where they stopped and conducted a search on a passenger bus where they discovered a pink school bag with clothing and inside they bag they discovered a parcel of suspected cannabis weighing one thousand and thirty seven grams. They also discovered identification for Kimesha Locke who was sitting just below the bag on the bus. As a result she was detained for charges of drug trafficking and I believe she has been charged. Also on Friday, police conducted a search on another passenger bus where they discovered two parcels of nine hundred and sixty eight grams of suspected cannabis in a black bag. No one could have been connected to the bag so that was deposited as found property. On Saturday around four-thirty a.m., also in San Jose village while police were on operations, they boarded a passenger bus where they conducted a search on twenty-ix-year-olds Julian Patt and Miri Patt. Between both persons on the seat was a blue bag when opened contained six parcels of marijuana which weighed a total of three thousand three hundred and fifty two grams. Both persons have since been arrested and charged for drug trafficking.”
