Belizean Man Becomes Victim of Hit and Run in UK
Twenty-seven-year-old Belizean citizen Graciano Choc, who is in the British Army, is the victim of a hit and run which occurred on Sunday night in the UK. His mother, Sharmane Gracia, says that Choc was returning to base when he was run over while on Christmas Hill, Winchester. The vehicle failed to stop at the scene. Choc sustained a broken leg and wrist and was placed in an induced coma. Tonight, he is in the hospital receiving medical attention. Before being flown out of the country, Garcia spoke with the media about what she knows of the incident.

“He had some, a bit of head injuries as well. So, right now they have him in an induced coma and he is supposed to do another surgery tomorrow. The army here has provided me with some assistance. They have assigned a military personal here from BATSUB who has been facilitated the entire process with travel for myself to go. They have been really reassuring and just supportive here. The nurse from the hospital has reassured me that it is not life threatening. It is just the whole being helpless right now and just hoping for the best.”
Garcia says her son is a fighter and believes he will make a speedy recovery.
