P.G. woman who doesn’t drive wins 4WD Benz
On Saturday, the University of Belize held its long awaited Mercedes Benz raffle. The draw, which took place at the Biltmore Plaza Hotel, was well attended, but the most important person, the lucky winner, was not present to receive her prize. Rosa Maria Bent of Punta Gorda says she was in Independence when she received the good news. Bent, who spent only ten dollars on the raffle, says she never expected to win the grand prize. At first she could not believe she had won the vehicle, which is valued at one hundred and forty thousand dollars.
