A resident of Maskall Village in the Belize District is the latest winners of fifteen thousand dollars courtesy of Scratch and Win. Mister Martinez, as he referred to himself to protect his identity and winnings, purchased four tickets on Monday night, he won only two dollars through the bonus. That ticket was then redeemed for a single chance on Tuesday, which was the lucky ticket. Martinez told News Five that the winnings will be used for his children’s education.

“Going to work that morning, I stopped off at Dougie’s Store and I saw one of my friends standing at the counter; he was purchasing tickets also. Dougie hauled out this same ticket and gave it to him but he said no, I don’t want that ticket; I want two one-dollar ticket. So I tell Dougie I have a ticket here that have two dollars; I want that same ticket. So my friend scratched his two ticket on the counter there and I said I will scratch mine at my work spot. So I went to my work and was back there, my workers came out and I stay in the vehicle and scratch. I scratch the other half and the first scratch to the top, there was a fifteen; I keep on scratching, there was another fifteen; and then when I did the last scratch, I saw another fifteen. I said oh mien, my eyes are fooling me and I said no make I look very good and it was three fifteen. And I said guys I hit that jackpot. This win comes in very good for me cause I have four children going to high school; two going in fourth form and the other two going in first form and I am so happy to win this and I will use that money to make dehn finish their education.”
