Burglary in Bz City, robbery in Cayo
In crime news, a Belize City business was burglarised sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning. Food and Beverage on the corner of New Road and Pickstock Street was broken into and the owner reports that a safe containing thirty thousand dollars in cash and items worth eight thousand, five hundred dollars was removed from the premises.
A strange incident in San Ignacio has left the Marketing Board eighteen thousand dollars poorer. Thirty-eight year old Shermaine Matthews told police that Tuesday morning at nine-thirty she was driving across the one lane wooden bridge on her way to make the board’s bank deposit when she saw a man wearing gloves and with his face covered running towards her. According to Matthews, she panicked and just handed over the bag. One man has been detained by police.
