Albert Moreira is Freed & Rearrested for Murder of Felina James

Albert Moreira

B.D.F. soldier, Albert Moreira was charged for the October 2018 murder of Felina James, his girlfriend and mother of their son. This week, he went to trial and saw the charge of murder dismissed by Magistrate Michelle Trapp when the court prosecutor informed that there was no case file available. Moreira’s attorney, Oscar Selgado, made an application asking the court to strike out the matter.  Magistrate Trapp agreed, but his freedom was fleeting since instead of joining his family outside the courtroom, Moreira was escorted back to the Queen Street Police Station where he was re-arrested and recharged for James’ murder. Within hours, Moreira was arraigned again. The murder shocked the community. It occurred sometime between October eleventh and October nineteenth; she was last seen with Moreira. Her vehicle was first recovered and later her body was found with chop wounds to the neck along the Coastal Road.   Moreira was arrested later in October 2018. For the new charge he will return to court on July twenty-sixth 2019.
