Reggae sensation Glen Washington in Belize

If you are still filling out your social calendar for the upcoming weekend, there is one show you may want to include in your plans. On Saturday night the Belize City Centre will be rocking with the sounds of Glen Washington. The artist arrived in Belize this morning and News Five’s Jacqueline Woods was at the Philip Goldson International Airport to meet him.

There was much media fanfare for the arrival of Jamaican reggae sensation Glen Washington. The artist responsible for such hits as “Number One Girl” and “Kindness for Weakness” is here to perform at the City Centre and the show’s promoters are promising it will be a great concert.

“He will be doing one show only, but it is a big show. It is three bands we have, Gilharry Seven, we have the Players it is a very strong band in Belize, a band to be reckoned with in the future and the Mew Millennium Band which is part of Glen. He came with the full entourage he’s here with everybody.”

Washington’s only advice for his fans is to come early. The show is scheduled to last four hours with as few interruptions as possible.

The show gets under way at 9:00 on Saturday at the Belize City Centre. Tickets can be bought at the door for sixty dollars or in advance at Venus Photo and Records or Doony’s store, for fifty dollars.
