Establishing a Cyber Security Strategy

G.O.B. is in the process of establishing a policy that specifically addresses the issue of cyber security. A two-day workshop on cyber security was organized by the Ministry of National Security in collaboration with the Public Utilities Commission, the United Kingdom-based Global Partners Digital and the Organization of American States to further enhance a strategy that would streamline the process. Representatives from both public and private sector organizations as well as civil society, including CITO, the Central Bank of Belize, B.T.L. and Belize Port Authority participated in the workshop with the objectives of defining roles and responsibilities and to put in place a concrete plan of action. The workshop was held on July fourth and fifth.
