Alleged Human Smugglers Pleaded Not Guilty; Released on Bail
As you heard just now, the two men charged in connection with an alleged smuggling operation, are social worker Sergio Adrian Guerra and Edwin Naj. Both men were in vehicles transporting two adults and two minors who are undocumented Honduran nationals. Naj and Guerra appeared before the courts today where they were charged and released on bail. Attorney Hurl Hamilton told the media that he had only just been retained as the accused men’s attorney, so he didn’t get a chance to do a brief with them. He shared what transpired in court where the men were arraigned.
Hurl Hamilton, Attorney
“Both of them have been charged with one count of facilitating the commission of an offence. The police is alleging that near Crooked Tree they had with them some Honduran nationals. I would want to think that they are illegal, that is what the police are alleging.”
