Hands of Mercy Charity Foundation Collecting Shoes for Students
Hands of Mercy Charity Foundation has embarked on a mission to collect five thousand shoes for the coming school year. Representative Moses Sulph says that when the charity foundation was created in 2010, the primary objective was to collect school bags and supplies to provide for less fortunate children. This year the organization is focusing on footwear and according to Sulph, twenty-five shoes have been collected so far.

“I did not realize that so many kids are going to school with shoes that are not proper or without shoes. So we decided that in an effort to try to reduce that part of the burden for parents who are making minimum wage and low income. What we do is get many of the names from the school and go into the community. We are trying to get five thousand foot wear and we are asking mainly for black footwear. For this school year coming, I have only collected twenty five shoes far. Since January we have given out five hundred school shoes.”
