Recruitment Exams: The Police Department Searches for A Few Good Men & Women

The Police Department is also looking for a few good men and women to join its ranks; one hundred and ninety to be exact. ComPol Chester Williams says that the recruitment drive this year is overwhelming, but the goal is to get the successful applicants into training by mid-August.

“The number of applicants we have is so much and we only want so much so I am sure that the selection process is going to be a tedious one. Many of the applicants we are seeing are persons with associates, bachelors and even masters degrees, so we will have a task ahead of us to make sure that we select a few good men and women as you rightly alluded to. We are looking to recruit a hundred and ninety; that will be a hundred and forty men and fifty females. And once that recruit training is over, that will greatly enhance our numbers to be able to cover more grounds and to provide a higher level of safety and security for our residents.”

The examination centres are as follows: for Belize District, it’s at Wesley College; Delille Academy for Stann Creek; U.B. Campus in P.G.; Corozal Community College and Muffles College in the north and for the Cayo District, the exam will be held at the Comprehensive High School in Belmopan. All applicants must produce a valid issued Belizean I.D. and their writing utensils. No phones or calculator will be allowed in the examination rooms. Applicants are asked to report to the examination room on or before seven a.m. on July thirteenth, 2019.
