Two armed robbers hold up bus in Hattieville
One of Belize’s cross-country buses has become the latest victim in the recent wave of armed robberies. Tuesday night around 8:40 a pair of masked men, one with a gun and the other carrying a knife, jumped out of the bushes near the Hattieville bus stop as a Novelo’s bus en route to Belmopan stopped to pick up and discharge passengers. The pair boarded the vehicle and confronted conductor Raul Bautista with the gun. He handed over the day’s receipts of around three hundred dollars and the robbers disappeared into the night. None of the passengers were robbed or threatened.
