No Arrests in the Murder of Edwin Nasario at SRH

Edwin Nasario

Dangriga police continue to investigate the execution of Edwin Nasario which occurred on Friday in the parking lot of the Southern Regional Hospital. Nasario was about to enter his vehicle when he was gunned down.   The incident has shocked the community and police say that they are looking at the possibilities that the murder may have been drug-related or the result of a dispute between Nasario’s stepchildren and a group of individuals in Pomona Village.

ACP Joseph Myvett, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“On Friday, July 12th sometime shortly before midday, Dangriga police were called to the Southern Regional Hospital whereupon arrival they observed a dark complexioned male person later identified as Felix Nasario, forty-five-years-old of a Dangriga Town address, suffering from gunshot type injuries and being attended to.  What the police know so far is that the deceased was called to that area by a friend to provide some assistance to him and when he was about to board his vehicle to leave the area that is when he was approached by two dark complexioned male persons on a motorcycle, one of whom, or the passenger on the motorcycle got off and fired several shots towards his direction which caused his injury and eventually led to his death.  So far police have detained several persons and are seeking one more person which we believe can assist in the investigation.”

“In this case, we had received a number of reports from within the town that Mr. Nasario, in a few months leading up to his death or murder, he had been, it looks like he had come into some money.  Is there any indication that there may be drug complications in this murder?”

ASP Joseph Myvett

“Well so far we have not yet been able to establish a motive but yes indeed, that information was given to us and that is one of the leads that is also being followed at this time.”

Isani Cayetano

“Are you guys aware that his stepsons may have had an altercation with persons in Pomona earlier in the week that may be seen as a motive?”

ASP Joseph Myvett

“We are looking at that as that information too was given to us.  So we are looking to exhaust that motive to see whether or not that was the case.”
