K.H.M.H C.E.O, Michelle Cox-Hoare, Mum on Pension Issue
In the letter sent by President of the K.H.M.H. Workers Union, Lidia Alpuche Blake, to Michelle Cox-Hoare, Blake tells the C.E.O. that the staff is unhappy with her administration. Cox-Hoare is told, “the general sentiment of our staff is that your administration is at the very least not interested in their overall well-being and their long term benefits. Your robust quest in reducing wastage and arbitrary cutting of cost has many of the staff members feeling disenfranchised of their employment rights and benefits in the past few weeks.” We asked Blake what exactly this meant.
Hipolito Novelo
“In the letter is says that how the staff feels that their rights are being infringed, a sort of way towards the C.E.O.’s administration. Talk to us about that point of the letter because I believe on Friday we didn’t speak on it.”
Lidia Alpuche Blake, President, K.H.M.H. Workers Union
“The point of the letter was specific on the pension issue that we need clarification on where we stood concerning the pension. It was on the pension.”
Hipolito Novelo
“I want to quote you: “Your administration is at the very least not interested in their overall well-being and their long term benefits. Your robust quest in reducing wastage and arbitrary cutting of cost has many of the staff members feeling disenfranchised of their employment rights and benefits in the past few weeks.” What does that mean?”
Lidia Alpuche Blake
“Many things which will be cleared out at a later date.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Is there tensions between the staff and the C.E.O.’s administration?”
Lidia Alpuche Blake
“We just need more communication…”
Hipolito Novelo
“The communication is lacking on the part of whom?”
Lidia Alpuche Blake
“…review of the MOU which is the most important part that we will review and deal with every point involved.”
Hipolito Novelo
“Do you believe that the C.E.O. will answer your letter?”
Lidia Alpuche Blake
“Well, we have been directed and we will write letters directly to the board now and we will seek answers and clarifications from there.”
The union will first meet as an executive and then with its members. We have been trying to get comment from the C.E.O. since the news broke last week, but all our attempts have been and continue to be futile.
