Police Re-strategize to Address Spike in Major Crimes
Belize City residents are at the mercy of criminals. Following the string of major crimes that occurred on Tuesday evening and the recent murders over the past weeks, the Belize Police Department is revamping its strategy to address the sudden spike in crime. Commander of Operations, ACP Marco Vidal told the media today that the top brass is meeting to deal with the criminals, especially those causing mayhem in the Old Capital.

“The police department has a strategy and as you as strategy we have to be continuously be revisiting those strategies and re-strategized depending on the environment. In this case we seen this phenomenon and we are meeting now to discuss a way that we will counter these crimes that have been occurring and thereby re-strategizing our efforts. We have operations in Belize City. We have in fact re-strategized our operations since yesterday in terms of addressing the issues that are affecting Belize City especially the ones yesterday. As I said, we will be looking at the matter, revisiting it again and continue to look at ways that we will ensure that there is safety in the city, Belize city in particular where the crime is prevalent.”
