Body of Desmond Kerr still not recovered from river
The body of Desmond Kerr, who drowned in the Haulover Creek near Bainton’s Bank on Tuesday, has still not been recovered. But efforts continue and according to Admiral Cedric Borland, Commandant in the National Coastguard, a deep search of the waters was carried out today and on Thursday, they will be conducting a surface search. Kerr was under the influence of alcohol when he jumped into the water and attempted to swim across, going against the advice of his friends. But by the time he reached half way across the river, Kerr began having problems and soon disappeared.
