American Tourist Drowns While Diving in Belize

An American retiree drowned on Thursday afternoon in San Pedro. He has been identified as sixty-six-year-old Steven Vorhaus of Colorado. News Five has learned that Vorhaus left on a boat along with other tourists to the B and D Dive location near the barrier reef. The group began to dive and upon reaching some forty-five feet below the water, Vorhaus signaled to the dive master that he was low on air. Vorhaus swam to the surface and later signaled to the dive master that he was fine. The group continued their dive and after twenty-five minutes, they noticed that Vorhaus was not in the boat. After searches were made, the body of Vorhaus was found at the bottom of the sea.
