Would-Be-Thief, Caught on Camera, is Arraigned for Burglary
A would-be-thief went to burglarize a closed business establishment, but was caught on the same surveillance camera he tried to steal. Cris Anthony Reyes of Marigold Lane, Belize City, was caught red-handed burglarizing the business place of U.S. national, Allen Jackson, on Caye Caulker and trying to steal surveillance camera footage. Late Friday evening, Reyes, a frequent client of the court, was arraigned for burglary before Magistrate Emmerson Banner. Allegations are that on May twentieth, he trespassed Jackson’s business and caused damages to a padlock and a cabinet door valued at eight hundred dollars. Reyes pleaded not guilty, saying it was not a case of burglary because that door was open. He was offered, but was unable to meet bail. Reyes was seen on camera going behind the desk and then to the cabinet. After breaking into it, he found out that the cabinet was empty.
