Man shot to death in his home

A Belize City man is dead after being shot in his own home. Details are sketchy but it appears that thirty year old Denton Young, a side man for Bowen and Bowen, returned to his house at 7023 Iguana Street accompanied by two friends around 9:30 Tuesday night. Young’s common-law wife, Michelle Neal, greeted the group and identified the two friends only as Goodman and Thug. Neal says she stayed on the veranda while the men went inside and fifteen minutes later she heard a gun discharge and ran inside where she saw her husband slumped over the couch and holding his stomach. Young was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he expired later that night. Police have detained two men in connection with the shooting and are searching for the missing weapon.
