National Song Competition’s People’s Choice Award Online Voting Opens
This year’s National Song Competition has completed the primary phase as all entries have been submitted and reviewed by a panel of judges. This year’s competition will feature five Junior entries, seven Carnival Song Seniors and seven Belize Song Senior finalists. As part of the competition, the online voting for the People’s Choice commenced at eight o’clock on Monday night and ends on Saturday august tenth at six o’clock in the evening. The entire list of entries can be found at www dot my national song dot bz. Communications Officers for N.I.C.H, Neal Hall, says the online voting is important as each person can vote for any artist once, however, they can vote for more than one artist in the competition. The votes are then tallied and the results decide the winner of the People’s Choice Award. The artist with the most online votes will be declared the winner of the People’s Choice Award and will receive a five hundred dollar prize. Hall explains how the voting is done.
Neil Hall, Communication & Marketing Officer, N.I.C.H.
“In order for you to vote you have to simply put in your email. When you put in your email and press submit, a code goes to your email and you copy that code in the spot that it goes and you vote for your artist. It is very important to know that it is a very, very easy step and it is just to safe guard the integrity of both the competition and the rightful winner of the People’s Choice Award.”

“And the artist songs are post on the website so the voters can see?”
Neil Hall
“Yes! They are all there. We not only have the song but this year we did it a little something different. This year we actually included the lyrics to the songs and we’ve made it so much easier for the artist to promote themselves by giving them the opportunity of sharing that page with just their song via Tumblr, Pinterest, of course Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. We are very happy. In the past we use to stress that we wanted ten people in every category. This year we are going more for the quality of the songs rather than the quantity of the songs so you will be very pleasantly surprise there are quite a few very good songs this year for our judges to be choosing from and as well as for you the audience at home to be looking to in terms of giving your vote to as your personal choice. Very important, on the 2019 contestants’ page we have just the 2019 playlist which list all the all of the songs of this year’s competition. So if you are having a great day at work and want to make it a little bit better and you a hint of Belize song, Carnival songs and junior in both categories just press play and go through the list. You will have a wonderful morning, and maybe even a wonderful afternoon and wonderful few days because you’ll find yourself doing it over and over again.”
