Palacio Pleads Guilty to Possession of a Controlled Drug
Also in the court was BiJay Palacio who was today fined for possession of a controlled drug. Before he pleaded guilty, Chief Magistrate Sharon Fraser made it clear to him that a guilty plea for marijuana can come back and haunt him if he should ever decide to visit the United States and needs to apply for a visa. After the friendly advice, Palacio pleaded guilty to possession of seventeen grams of marijuana, which he was busted with at the corner of Iguana Street Extension and Pelican Street. For his guilty plea, Chief Magistrate Frazer imposed a non-custodial sentence and fined Palacio five hundred dollars which he was ordered to pay by September thirtieth, 2019, or in default six months imprisonment. Records show that Palacio was in debt to the court in the sum of thirty dollars and was told he had to pay before leaving the court.
