No Sight of Accused Murderer Rodwell Arzu

An all-points bulletin remains in effect for the apprehension of Rodwell Arzu, the man whom police believe shot and killed his ex-girlfriend on Sunday morning in Dangriga, before turning the murder weapon on her cousin.  Forty-one-year-old Geraldine Flowers was fatally injured when Arzu gained entry to her apartment in the New Site area of town.  Neighbours told News Five that they heard a barrage of gunshots sometime after five o’clock that morning.  One eyewitness observed Arzu’s vehicle parked near her house before seeing him speed off moments later.  Police would later discover the lifeless body of Flowers on a bed inside the bedroom, while her cousin, thirty-six-year-old Samuel Reid, was found in an unconscious state after being stabbed and shot during the incident.  Since then, Arzu, a resident of Independence Village, has been on the run.

“Yes, the suspect still remains at large.”

“Do you believe that he is within the Stann Creek [District] or Dangriga proper, considering that he has relatives…”

“Yeah, I wouldn’t want to say that, in that we were following several leads in other districts so we would not necessarily want to go into the fact to say that he may be concentrated in that area at this point in time.”

“The suspicion is that he is, well he is the prime suspect but is there anybody, any eyewitness who said yes, that’s the man I saw running away or entering the house?”

“I will not go into the details of that at this point in time, other than to say that the other victim is in a stable condition.  That is as far as I will go in relation to that.”
