“I would have gone regardless…” – Kareem Musa

Kareem Musa

When asked if he would have accepted the offer to travel to China, considering the storm that it has since created, Musa did not shy away from reaffirming his position on the issue.

“In hindsight, would you still have gone?”

Kareem Musa, Area Representative, Caribbean Shores

“Yes, I would have gone regardless of whether it is that Taiwan is considered to be openly supporting one political party over the other.  I would have gone in any event. What we have to understand when it comes to the relationship between Taiwan and China, let us be very clear in terms of economic trade, Taiwan invests heavily in China and likewise, China invests heavily in Taiwan.  So let’s not make it seem as though they’re not even trading with each other because they do and they do invest with each other.  The way I look at it, it is as though this is a situation where you have two siblings that are having their own dispute.  That’s not something for us to be getting involved with.  That’s not part of our political concern, it shouldn’t be.”
