National Celebrations Committee Hands Over Cheques to Municipalities

Stakeholders and members of the National Celebrations Committee met on Wednesday to discuss logistics for the activities that will be held countrywide during the course of the next month and a half. One of the first activities, the National Song Competition, takes place this weekend at the Corozal Civic Centre up north. The occasion was also used to hand over cheques to the various municipalities for the 2019 September Celebrations. Communications Officer for NICH, Neil Hall spoke on behalf of the committee.

“We as the N.C.C. with the help of the various different mayors from the different municipalities can ensure that the 2019 September Celebrations celebrating the thirty-eight year of our independence will be absolutely dynamic as well as safe and enjoyable for everybody. Every year the N.C.C. is put in charge of disbursement to the municipalities where we assist them with ensuring the very best entertainment and the very best celebration for every municipality. Today was the issuing of cheques from the co-chair of the N.C.C. to the various different municipalities that were present here. And for those that weren’t, of course we will send them their cheque via mail.”
