Ibrahim Smith, Guilty of Murder
There is a murder conviction to report tonight. Twenty-seven-year-old Ibrahim Smith remains behind bars awaiting sentencing for the November 2012 murder of twenty-two-year-old William Francis. Francis was gunned down inside his home and perished in the living room. He was shot as many as six times to the upper left side of the body. In trial, the crown was represented by Sheneiza Smith of the D.P.P.’s Office. Of the ten witnesses who were called to the stand, the main witness Felix Delroy Francis testified that Smith entered the house and asked his brother for a man by the name of Malic and then fired at William. Smith then ran out of the house and made good his escape. The trial by judge without jury started in May and has now concluded. Smith will be sentenced in September in the courtroom of Justice Marilyn Williams. He was represented by attorney Leeroy Banner.
