Chief Justice receives medal of merit
He is usually busy with hearings and judgments, but Chief Justice Abdulai Conteh began his day today on a different note. In the Supreme Court, a ceremony took place to honour Conteh for his work in the judiciary. The C.J. was conferred with a medal of merit, known as the Merito da Magistratursa Bahia by Brazil’s Ambassador, Roberto Coutinho.
It is the first time that the medal has been conferred in Belize and it is awarded by the Government of Brazil to persons who have distinguished themselves in the judiciary. Present to toast the C.J. were judges and magistrates.
