Samayoa Brothers Refute Police’s Version of Placencia Hotel Fatal Stabbing
Police have yet to charge someone for the stabbing death of Santa Cruz resident, twenty-four-year-old Everaldo Samayoa. He was at the Placencia Hotel and Casino on August eighth along with two of his brothers when he was fatally stabbed. A physical confrontation between the brothers and security officer, Darwin Castillo, preceded the incident. According to police, the argument began after the men refused to pour their alcoholic beverages into a disposable cup. Investigators say one of them pushed Castillo which caused the fight to ensue and resulted in Samayoa’s death. Well, the Samayoa family is refuting the official report. Today, Juan Samayoa, one of the brothers who was involved in the altercation, told News Five what happened inside the casino before the stabbing.

“This bartender gave us two plastic cups for me and my brother Everaldo who passed away. So in that little moment I didn’t see where my brother Marlon went. So I didn’t if he had a pint. I didn’t see where he went. We put our beers in a plastic cup. When we were putting our beers in the plastic the manager of the casino told the security please follow that guy, he is carrying a pint in his hand, if he goes out from the casino with the pint he will not be allowed to enter the casino again. My tab was already paid, we were already to leave. My brother Marlon Samayoa was not there. I think he was already out from the Casino. He went out of the casino because he was very angry and drunk. When the security walked because the manager told him to follow this guy so the security went. So we went behind as well but we were going out of the casino. At no moment were we escorted out of the casino. At no moment did the security officer told us the rules of the casino and at no moment he didn’t tell us anything. He did not talked to us.”

“When I came out from the casino, I saw the security going to my brother in an aggressive behavior like if he wanted to beat my brother. He was very close to my brother, Marlon Samayoa. He was watching in his eyes and he was pointing at him. So, I have my beer and chips on my hand. I put it aside. I stayed there and I saw the security is cursing him. My brother as well was cursing at the security. So when I saw a bad move, wanted to beat my brother so I pushed him. I pushed him and he dropped.”
