2 More Persons Sought for the Callous Killing of Ofelia Hernandez Cruz
Sixty-nine-year-old Ofelia Hernandez Cruz was bludgeoned to death inside her home in Sand Hill Village. Her body was discovered on Tuesday afternoon and it is believed that she was attacked and killed by two young men who managed to enter her house in search of her husband’s licensed shotgun. The shocking and cold-blooded murder of the Mexican national has resulted in the detention of several persons, but investigators are now searching for two additional persons whom they believe can assist in the investigation. According to ACP Joseph Myvett, the persons of interests were seen in the area prior to the callous murder.

“What the police know so far is that sometime prior to them being called there screams were heard coming from her home. Police so far have detained several persons, and are seeking two other persons who we believe can assist in the investigation at this time.”

“Is it the understanding that more than two people went in there.”

“No but several other persons were detained for questioning.”
“So does the police knowing if these people are from around the area, were conducting surveillance on them?”

“At this point in time I do not want to go into the details of the case. The investigators have been on the ground since the incident and have visited everyone in the area, working on the investigation.”

“These suspects are they from the area?”

“At this point in time I do not want to go into where they are from other than that they have been seen in the area prior to the incident.”

“How about if anything was stolen?”

“At this point in time we will have to verify that. There is some information that a shotgun was stolen but we will have to verify that.”
