Belizean athletes competing in the CODICADER Games are snatching the medals
A contingent of Belizean athletes left Belize without fanfare and are currently in Honduras where they are competing in the U-15 CODICADER games in Tegucigalpa. The local team is taking on mighty players from Central America in various disciplines and is putting on a big fight. Earlier today, Kenrick Gordon bested other athletes from the region in the one hundred meter sprint, and took first place in Track and Field. Glenford Williams was close behind securing second place for Belize. In the shot put competition, Jaeda Morris is bringing home the bronze. Morris won the first medal for the jewel. But despite impressive play, in male and female volleyball, Belize was unable to beat Guatemala today. The girls also lost to El Salvador. But the male team was able to beat El Salvador with a score of three to one in games played on Monday.
The volleyball girls have already beat host country Honduras with a score of three to one. The male team, however, could not pull it off against the Honduran team which won the three sets. We’ll have more on the games in Thursdays newscast.
